I like to make every recipe in cookbooks. After working on cover-to-cover cookbook runs for a while, I thought it would be fun to share my reviews online. Thus, Every Recipe was born. You can follow me on Instagram for recipe review highlights, or read my blog for detailed reviews.

I’m Maia! I am not a professional in the kitchen, but I do enjoy being there. I also love board games, video games, creative writing, and books (non-cookbooks included!). I’m happily based in Rhode Island with my husband, Jacob.
Questions & Answers
Why did you start going through cookbooks cover to cover?
I felt overwhelmed by the hundreds of recipe options available to me. By picking a single cookbook and committing to making every recipe in it, my dinner time paralysis disappeared. Every time I need to make food, I know exactly what I’m going to make. Plus, this has been an enjoyable project and has gotten me to try new things in the kitchen.
When did you start?
In 2024, I started my cover-to-cover cookbook runs. In August 2026, I created this blog and posted all my reviews, old and new.
What cookbooks have you worked on?
I have worked on three so far:
- Binging with Babish by Andrew Rea – This was the first cookbook I attempted to complete. This book helped me discover the joy of dedicating myself to a cookbook, but also what types of cookbooks do and don’t work well for this type of project. Now I know and am committed to seeing my other cookbooks through until the end!
- Bliss on Toast by Prue Leith – This is the first cookbook I completed. I initially didn’t take photos, but I do have reviews for all 75 recipes.
- Cook It in Your Dutch Oven by America’s Test Kitchen – This is my current project. It’s been so much fun!
Are you a professional chef?
No! I’m an amateur in the kitchen, which is important to note when reading my reviews. My husband, who is also not a pro chef, will sometimes help me.
